Activision Blizzard, today announced the acquisition of the business of Major League Gaming (MLG). The acquisition expands Activision Blizzard's reach across the rapidly-growing esports ecosystem by adding proven live streaming capabilities and technologies to the Activision Blizzard Media Networks division, led by former ESPN CEO Steve Bornstein and MLG Co-founder Mike Sepso. MLG has been suffering as of late, thanks in part to the rise of other leagues (ESL) and has recently been falling into debt. This move by Activision/Blizzard looks to turn that around, but we don't yet know if this new league will only feature 1st party games from the developers.
