A Saint’s Row Movie Is A Thing That Is Happening

Saint's Row

It already has a director.

Saint’s Row is a series I have fairly little experience with. All I know is that, as a whole, each new installment has that Jojo escalation, wherein each one just gets more insane than the last. Anyway, Saint’s Row is getting a Movie adaptation, and I have no idea what that’s going to look like.

They’ve even got a director attached. F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, Men in Black International) is currently set to be the director of this brave new attempt at bucking the “shitty video game movie” trend. Greg Russo is penning the script, while also working on reboots of the Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat film franchises. Which, I think we can all agree, Resident Evil really really needs.

Way back in 2009, when the franchise was owned by THQ, 50 Cent was apparently optioning the rights for a movie based on the games. That, naturally, didn’t exactly happen, for obvious reasons.

The film is a co-production between Koch Media, Fenix Studios, and Occupant Entertainment. And that’s about all the actual news there is.
