A Top Ranked League Of Legends Player Got Arrested In An Internet Cafe After His Name Was Announced

League of Legends

Kinda getting some Kim Dotcom vibes.

Last week saw one of China’s top League of Legends players get arrested. And all because his name was announced.

When top players show up in an internet cafe to play, they tend to be a big deal; made more so by the fact that cafes will often roll out the red carpet and make a big fuss over them.which is probably not a good thing when said player is also wanted by the law. What happened here was that this player was not only wanted, he just so happened to be in a cafe with a fellow aspirant LoL player, Zhang Yihao… who was an off duty cop.

When he heard the announcement, Yihao looked over, thought the guy seemed familiar, and took a picture to check his identity. As it turned out, the player who went by the screen name “strong king” was in fact wanted for some crime (the article, near as I can tell, never specifies).

Regardless, it’s probably not a great idea to be a wanted criminal and also something of a celebrity.
