Amazon Will Not Stock Anything But Essentials Until April

Amazon

The world is ending
And there’s no more food
And I really need to wipe my bum
Help Goooooooooo~

Amazon has recently notified third-party sellers that the COVID-19 T-virus crisis has forced them to stop stoking non-essentials in their warehouse through April 5th. Namely, due to situations caused by people hoarding essential household goods like toilet paper, personal care products, and beefaroni.

Per Yahoo Finance, the company has outlined the six categories of items that will be stocked:

  • Baby Products
  • Health and Household
  • Beauty and Personal Care
  • Grocery
  • Industrial and Scientific
  • Pet Supplies

Everything outside of those categories won’t see a restock through the 5th.

Note that this doesn’t necessarily wreck third-party seller’s livelihoods; since their products can still be shipped directly through Amazon. Though that will probably be slower.
