Amazon’s Crucible cuts game modes month after launch

Amazon’s free-to-play hero shooter Crucible is not off to the best of starts. For the biggest company in the world the game quietly launched last month and you’d be forgiven if you totally missed it.

But it seems the faith in the project might never have been that high for Amazon as the game is now cutting game modes only a month after launch.

Harvester Command and Alpha Hunters modes are being killed off “for the foreseeable future.” The current plan is to focus development onto Heart of the Hive mode that people are actually playing and caring about.

On top of all of this the planned first season of content for the game is also being shelved. Game lead Colin Johanson stated that, “We’re going to stay in pre-season until those features and polish that have been identified by the community are completed.”
