Overwatch is a lovely game, but one thing that would make it even better would be support from cross-platform play. Sure, this opens up a number of issues with fanboys, but the chance to be able to play with your friends who have the game on a competing console would be pretty neat.

Blizzard themselves seem to understand this desire, especially as the cross-platform gates have begun to open with other titles. While the company hasn’t confirmed anything they did mention in a tweet that:

@bickiya There is no cross platform play. We’ll keep an eye on cross-platform possibilities on the consoles.

When asked about the possibility of cross-play with PC users Blizzard responded by stating that,

“We have no plans for that. Mixing mouse/keyboard and controller can have balance and competitive issues.”

Makes perfect sense as I can only imagine the rage induced from PC users as those with controllers try and keep pace in vain.
