Beamdog Announces Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition

Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition releases April 11th, 2017.

The original Planescape: Torment was released in 1999 by Black Isle Studios and quickly became one of the highly regarded RPGs of all time. It’s also quite possibly my favorite PC RPG in history. Set in the dark and dangerous Planescape campaign setting from Dungeons & Dragons, Planescape: Torment has been praised by RPG fans as a stunning example of storytelling in video games.

The Enhanced Edition brings the Planescape: Torment experience to a new generation of RPG fans on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and for the first time on iPad and Android tablets. On release, Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition will be available on Beamdog, Steam, GoG, Mac App Store, Apple App Store, and Google Play. The desktop version is $19.99, and the mobile version is $9.99.

Chris Avellone, Lead Designer on the original Planescape: Torment, has partnered with Beamdog to curate Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition: “Beamdog has worked hard to ensure the feel and tone of the Enhanced Edition matches the original game. At the same time, they’ve also taken advantage of current generation technology to allow for improvements to the interface and feel – it’s the best way to play Planescape: Torment, hands-down.”

In addition to Enhanced Edition improvements such as zoom capabilities and no load times, Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition features an exciting high-definition interface on both desktop and tablets.
