Blizzard Adds 4 New Characters to ‘Heroes of the Storm’

For those of you who haven’t the foggiest idea what ‘Heroes of the Storm’ is (PC fans most assuredly do), let’s explain:

“Wage war with the most powerful heroes from Blizzard Entertainment’s game universes in the explosive multiplayer game Heroes of the Storm, based on the classic and hugely influential Defense of the Ancients game MOD. Heroes of the Storm is a team-based competitive game in which each player controls a powerful hero with unique abilities, and works with his or her team to invade and destroy the enemy team’s base.”

What does that all mean? Well, you can think of it as Blizzard’s version of League of Legends. Although, as is actually based on Defense of the Ancients, a MOD for a Blizzard game that in turn was the inspiration for LoL… Okay, now I have a headache.

Blizzard have come out, on day one, at PAX East 2014 with a big announcement regarding the game. The company revealed four all-new new heroes that will be player controlled in Heroes of the Storm. I just have my fingers crossed to see characters from Rock n’ Roll Racing , Lost Vikings or the extreme long-shot, Justice League Task Force. The new heroes from famous Blizzard games are:

  • LiLi – “Lili is a new support hero with an ability set that helps her to very effectively aid her teammates throughout the game.”
  • Brightwing – “Brightwing is a versatile support hero capable of teleporting from ally to ally, healing them and providing them with the help they need to succeed in battle.”
  • Zagara – “Zagara has map-wide components to her design; she can drop Creep Tumors to spread Zerg Creep, which helps speed up her movement speed, as well as the speed of her summons.”
  • Murky – “Murky is going to die A LOT, but he’s a hero who eventually overwhelms enemies across multiple battles. He doesn’t need to win every fight; he just needs to win once.”
