Bloodshot USA #3

This issue gave me something that I’ve been wanting to see in the story’s timeline for a while: a more human side of the killing machine known as Ray Garrison. Bloodshot USA #3 offers a different perspective on the hero we met long ago, with a little dose of action to keep things moving along nicely.

Bloodshot USA #3 // Valiant

Bloodshot USA #3 has a kind of a slow beginning, but this chapter hooks you when you finally discover what seems to be happening. Bloodshot and Kay find themselves trapped in an unknown place where things look stranger than usual, and where their own bodies and minds start to change.

We start to discover that this time their lives are a little bit more complicated and so is the world around them, as the other Bloodshots are also having a hard time. Everyone is dealing with a big problem in Bloodshot USA #3, and I’m not sure I can say which one is worse than any other.

That said, I felt there was a lack of detail in the overall plot lines, as if things were that way simply because that was the way things were. As I’ve said before, it seems we have a safe bet here with the story details being glossed over , and despite that it’s not really a big deal, I cannot just ignore it.

Artistically, it was interesting to see a more childish face with the same style we’re used to in Bloodshot USA #3. We also get a little more of color here and there, as red and more warm tonalities seem to be becoming the norm for the book. It didn’t bother me as a change is good every now and then.

We have more than a couple of double page panels as well which is something I like. As you can imagine, the detailed images were a marvel to see.

The inks were softer here than before, with the same kind of sharp images we get. It’s been a little weird to see this combination, as it is not something we’ve seen in a lot in other comic books, but I cannot deny that Bloodshot USA #3 looks pretty cool because of it.

The only little problem I was able to find in here was the lettering, as it wasn’t as remarkable as I expected. We all know that this is not the most important part of the comic, but I still wanted to see a bit of the fluid read like I had seen before. No big deal, really, but still a bit disappointing.

So, to summarize: Bloodshot USA #3 has great plot, great art, with some very little flaws here and there. I think we may have a great conclusion on its way, and it seems like it’s going to be worth the wait!
