A brand new ‘Double Dragon’ game is coming this January

The legendary beat ’em up Double Dragon will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2017. To mark the occasion we figured System Works (who picked up the rights to the series last year) would put together some sort of release or compilation of all the classic entries.

But it turns out the studio is doing us one better by bringing back Bimmy Billy and Jimmy in an all new entry to the series with Double Dragon IV. The game will drop on January 30th for both PS4 and PC.

The trailer shows us the games in the core series (none of the weird fighting game spin-offs) before launching into a look at Double Dragon IV. Instead of going 3D, something that has mostly miss for the series as of late, the game sticks to its 8-bit roots.
