Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 drops trailer; Shows off new gameplay features

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is a dark, gritty future (because that’s an original concept) where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the cutting-edge military robotics that define the future of combat.

The first two Black Ops games were a lot of fun, but with Advanced Warfare out, it sure feels as if there is less and less to distinguish each of these game series the more titles they produce. Treyarch does have a good track record when it comes to mixing things up from the norm with their Call of Duty side series (main series?).

You’ve got your Advanced Warfare in my Black Ops.

Black Ops 3 will feature some things that are completely new to the series abilities that you’ll be able to upgrade along the way as well as the chance to tackle campaign missions with friends in co-op mode. The team is hoping that these new play mechanics will allow for more replay value in the game’s narrative-driven (Single player?) mode.

You’ll also be able to choose you gender in Black Ops 3, but this is more than a simple re-skin as Studio Head Mark Lamia said,

It’s not just a female head on a male body. It’s a different set of animations for the entire game. We knew we were going to do fully unique male, fully unique female for all scenes and all the customization that goes for both. Thank God for Blu-ray, right?

  • Co-op campaign
  • Return of Zombies mode with dedicated progression system
