Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood Officially Announced for PS4

Castlevania

Cut number one contains computer data, so please don’t play it. But you probably won’t listen to me anyway, will you?

Well, it’s not much of a surprise anymore, but, hey, at least we know the release date. Because Konami put out a trailer for Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood to get people pumped for next month.

‘Castlevania: Rondo of Blood’, first released in 1993 and ‘Castlevania: Symphony of the Night’, first released in 1997 are now available in one combined package for the PS4!

Experience two of the greatest games from the famous Castlevania series.
Make your way to the top of Dracula’s castle as Richter Belmont, descendant of the famed clan of vampire hunters, in ‘Rondo of Blood’, or take the leading role as Dracula’s son Alucard in ‘Symphony of the Night’.

Enjoy the unique world, the epic classical background music, and the side-scrolling action of the Castlevania series!

The collection is probably the freshest way to enjoy both games in their original format, too. It has the following to kick it up a notch:

  • 4K/1080p upscaling
  • Hi-res backgrounds
  • New rendering options
  • Dualshock 4 Support; vibration, analog stick, and speaker

As to which version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night they’ll be going with, I’m not sure. In the past (on the PSP version, specifically), due to licensing issues, they replaced the original cheesy ending music for SotN, and took the opportunity to fix things like the Sword Brothers glitch (Serenade of Sympathy is a Yamane original, so it’s good; I just like things left as they were). So we’ll just have to wait and see.

Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood releases digitally on the PS4 October 26th, this year.Which, as it just so happens, is the exact same date that Season 2 of Castlevania debut’s on Netflix. Gonna be a hell of a month.
