CD Projekt May Face Legal Troubles Over Cyberpunk 2077 Launch

Cyberpunk 2077

And Then It Got Worse: Poland Edition

Well, it’s safe to say that over 7 years of development didn’t turn out quite as expected for Cyberpunk 2077. Even discounting the botch of the PS4 and Xbox One versions. the game has quite a few problems. And apparently, that may actually mean legal action against CD Projekt.

According to The New York Times, lawyers and investors in Poland are trying to figure out if they can get a Class-Action lawsuit going against the company. Per a post by Mikołaj Orzechowski, who is also an investor in CD Projekt Red (I sadly had to use Google Translate here):

Ladies and gentlemen,

My name is Mikołaj Orzechowski, I am a Warsaw attorney and at the same time a CDPR investor. In connection with the recent events – and in particular the suspension of the sale of the CYBERPUNK 2077 product, we are currently analyzing, together with the team of the law firm, the grounds for bringing a class action together with the notification of the possibility of committing an offense under Art. 286 of the Penal Code. – misrepresentation in order to obtain financial benefits. If you are interested in participating in the above, please contact me at [email address]. Contact is absolutely free, my entry is to verify whether to undertake the above activities yourself, or whether there are more people in a situation similar to me. We are also preparing material, together with one of the web portals, on the rights of investors, in the event of such a glaring, inconsistent with the facts, the attitude of the management board – see information that the game is ready, taking into account several delays in the premiere, as well as statements, in which the aforementioned management board admits that they did not exercise due diligence in developing the game for the PS4 platform.

He’s not the only one. A post by New York firm Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP has announced much the same: “an investigation of potential securities claims on behalf of shareholders of CD Projekt S.A”.
