CES 2019: Alienware shows off 55-inch 4K gaming monitor

Alienware is dropping massive bombs at CES 2019!

This surprise announcement of their massive 55-inch, 120Hz, 4K OLED display should makes gamers really take note. We have no idea the cost or full specs, but you can bet it’ll be out of your price range, you cheap bastards.

Gamers will understand that playing on a huge TV isn’t all that great from PC games. You have issues with lag and lower crap refresh rates. If you play games where a fraction of a second means life, death or that league win, you need a monitor that can keep up.

But now it seems those huge screens are finally being tailored to the PC gaming market and Alienware wants in on this new market segment. What makes this special upon seeing it is that refresh rate it’s working with.

So often television’s lock you into either 60Hz or 120Hz. This new Alienware offers up variable refresh rates up to its maximum 120Hz refresh rating. You also get a
DisplayPort 1.4 connection that allows for 4K at 120Hz. Most TV’s running HDMI can only support 4K at 60Hz.

We couldn’t get a price from the team no matter how much we tried (we have to start saving is what that tells us), but the team told us they expect the monitor to hit the market sometime later this year.
