Code Vein’s first trailer shows a very Dark Souls-like Vampire adventure

A few weeks back we got our first look at Bandai Namco’s next big project in Code Vein with a number of screenshots. This action role-playing title is coming in 2018, but the company just released the first gameplay trailer on the world.

As expected, Code Vein is drawing heavily from the Dark Souls series of game, but this is probably a good thing for fans. You can check off all the boxers in the above trailer such as huge bosses and all that tumbling action.

But this is more than simply Dark Souls in a Vampire setting (although that would be pretty cool on its own), as Bandai Namco says there is a lot of new mechanics to expect.

As players venture out into the world, they will be able to choose a partner companion from the various residents of Vein. Added strategy presents itself when players choose companions that complement their play style to give them a fighting chance against the vicious enemies they’ll be up against through their journey.

CODE VEIN is an upcoming action-RPG that will release worldwide in 2018.
