Community might actually do six seasons and a movie

“Six seasons and a movie” – or, if you prefer, #SixSeasonsAndAMovie – has been an in-joke on Community since season two, when Abed was predicting the future of the ill-fated The Cape. But as Community wraps up its fifth season, with a sixth all but assured, it looks like the joke could translate to reality. Life imitating art, or something like that.

According to TV Guide:

According to insiders, at least one director has already been considered to helm the inevitable Community feature: Justin Lin, who directed the last four movies in the Fast & Furious franchise. Lin has also directed several episodes of Community.

One of the episodes Lin directed was the classic “Modern Warfare,” so I think he’d be a good choice for the movie. But if he can’t do it, Community has a deep bench of great comedy directors to pick from – the Russo brothers, Tristram Shapeero, Jay Chandrasekhar…the list goes on.

We’ll keep you updated on any further developments.
