CW Developing Live-Action Powerpuff Girls Series

Powerpuff Girls

Goddamnit 2020, haven’t we suffered enough?!

According to Variety, a live-action Powerpuff Girls show is in development over at The CW.

Per their description:

In the updated version of the series, the titular superheroes are now disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?

The project is coming from writers/producers Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody. And the now customary list of executive producers: Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Dave Madden via Berlanti Productions, with Warner Bros. Television producing.

Do note the complete and utter absence of Crag McCracken in any of this.

Christ, the best thing to happen to the Powerpuff Girls in the past decade is Ace from the Gangreen Gang joining Gorillaz.
