CW orders Flash & Arrow spinoff DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

Legends of Tomorrow

The CW is quickly turning from the network about angsty teenagers, and quickly turning into super hero central. Who would have guessed that a character like Green Arrow would have been the one to break the wall down on television. The CW is at it again with their next superhero project, Legends of Tomorrow that looks to bring together some of DC’s most powerful TV heroes.

In legends, time traveler Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) having seen the future where things have fallen apart, is tasked with putting together a team of super-powered heroes and villains to stop a world ending threat. Hunter and his team will have come together and defeat an immortal threat, if they can get past their differences.

This new drama hails from executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti (Arrow, Flash) and Marc Guggenheim who helms Arrow. The show will star Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory, Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm), Ciara Renee (Kendra Saunders, Hawkgirl), Franz Drameh (Jay Jackson) and Caity Lotz whose character has yet to be revealed, but as this is time travel, we can hope that her Canary character was plucked from time somehow. So, while DC can’t play nice with their movie and TV properties, this is as close to a Suicide Squad as we are going to get. It’s a good thing that these characters are all pretty damn cool.
