David Lynch Leaves Showtime’s ‘Twin Peaks’ Revival

Twin Peaks

Co-creator of the original “Twin Peaks” television show, David Lynch, has announced that he has officially left the project. The announcement came via his social Facebook page and it reads as follows:

Dear Facebook Friends, Showtime did not pull the plug on Twin Peaks. After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done. This weekend I started to call actors to let them know I would not be directing. Twin Peaks may still be very much alive at Showtime. I love the world of Twin Peaks and wish things could have worked out differently.

There have been some unsubstantiated rumors that the show had died over at Showtime, but Lynch himself says that the project might still come to air, just without his influence on the project. Money is always the way of the world in Hollywood and we’d still love to see more Twin Peaks, but without Lynch and his very unique style and vision, the show may not be the same.
