Doctor Who Series Makes Its Home On Amazon prime

Doctor Who

Doctor Who has been a streaming battle over the last year or so. Amazon removed a number of Doctor Who series and specials when the BBC Worldwide North America opened up the rights to allow other streaming services (Netflix) to have access to the property.

In the year since Amazon made cuts to the series on its platform things have come full circle with regards to licensing rights. Amazon has been making a large push to snag exclusive streaming and original content and Doctor Who is another win for the service.

We now know that the BBC Worldwide North America has signed a multi-year deal with Amazon to see the modern Doctor Who series be exclusive to the Amazon Prime streaming service in the US.

Those that subscribe to Amazon Prime will get access to eight series of the show, as well as all the included holiday specials that were released. The series will become available in March 27th and will see series 9 hit the service later this fall.
