EA Cockblocks American McGee’s Alice: Asylum

Alice: Asylum

In case you forgot.

Yes, it seems the ride may be over. As badly as fans might want it, EA has passed on the third installment of American McGee’s Alice series, which was to be titled Alice: Asylum.

In essence, there’s no way to move forward with the game, now. EA was needed both for the use of the license, as well as funding and overall structure for the project. EA will neither sell nor advance the IP.

If you’re not familiar with the series, let Civvie give you a walk through the madness:

That said, not all is lost. American McGee did put together a design bible for Alice: Asylum in the leadup to this absolutely soul-crushing point. The downside is that it’s surpassed its quota on Google Drive, and there don’t seem to be any mirrors, so who knows when it’ll be obtainable in the future. But it exists.

Shameful and disappointing, EA. No surprise that there’s a Change.org petition for it already.
