EA’s E3 2018 Lineup

EA

It’s in the game?

EA always comes around near first when it comes to E3. And once again, that’s how it went, with their trailers going up yesterday. And chances are, they either managed to show something you like a bit, or fills you with the burning rage of a thousand suns. Possibly both. Either way, let’s get this show on the road. This is everything EA showed off for E3.

Anthem

EA showed off a bit of the world of Anthem this year with a cinematic trailer. What’s more, BioWare manager Casey Hudson, as well as the game’s executive producer Mark Darrah and lead writer Cathleen Rootsaert took the stage to give a bit about it. They were all pretty focused on story, with the promise that they’ll be adding to the game for “years to come”.

Also brought up are the Javelin units; the power suits prominently shown off in every trailer. Since the suit and your character are not one, they are changeable, acting as a swappable character class at will.

Of course, they had a very optimistic idea of how actual gamers would play it:

Ahh, this is closer to reality:

Battlefield V

EA somehow managed to turn a Battlefield game into a salt mine. That’s really all that needs to be said.

Command & Conquer: Rivals

I imagine most Command & Conquer fans feel the same way about this as I did about Breath of Fire 6. And Dragon Quarter, to a somehow lesser extent. At least, judging from one of our EiC’s reaction to it. Oh well, EA’s gonna do what EA’s gonna do, right?

FIFA 19, Madden NFL 19, and Madden Overdrive

One of the few joys of my life in years gone was taking a stroll past the local GameStop. I’d look in as I’d pass, and see one hundred some odd copies of Madden [then current year] on the used shelf close to launch.

I’d laugh.

Jedi: Fallen Order

There wasn’t anything shown of this game. And, honestly, I still marvel at the fact that they continue to have the license.

Regardless, Respawn’s Vince Zampella confirmed a bit about the game. It’s set between Episode III and Episode IV, for one. And it concerns a surviving padawan.

Star Wars Battlefront II

Ah, hell, might as well stick all of the Star Wars stuff together, right? The new stuff is going to be tackling The Clone Wars. You’ll naturally get maps, as well as characters such as General Grievous, Jesus Obi Wan Kenobi, and Anakin (probably post-Sand-People-genocide, but pre-mass-child-murder).

NBA 19 LIVE

Sportball I forgot to put in above. And am too lazy to shift things around. But you know someone that will love it.

Sea of Solitude

Sea of Solitude is one of those neat games EA occasionally has that manage to draw my attention. It rather easily brings to mind The Flame in the Flood, but sets itself apart aesthetically, in addition to having a clear goal. It’ll be out in 2019.

The Sims 4 Seasons

Sim murder has never been so festive.

Unravel Two

I’m going to level with you; I didn’t know there was an Unravel 1. Still, it seems a pleasant little platformer. And those environments are super pretty. Good job, EA. Doubly so, as it’s purchasable right now, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Origin Access Premiere

Origin Access Premier is a new tier of our PC gaming membership that gets you new games like Battlefield V, FIFA 19, Madden NFL 19, and Anthem before launch. No trial, no waiting, just play.

Plus, dive into over 100 PC titles whenever you want, as long as you're a Premier member – that means great EA games and titles from our partners like Batman: Arkham Asylum, INSIDE, The Witness, and more. Then save 10% on other Origin digital purchases like Ultimate Team content.

Origin Access Premier arrives on PC this summer. Find out more at http://x.ea.com/47314

And that’s pretty much your lot. Stay with us, though. We’re heading to E3 this year, and we’ll give you every tidbit we can get our greedy little meathooks on. You know, without violating any potential NDA’s.
