Even Don Cheadle Has No Idea Why He Got An Emmy Nomination For The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

I got nothin’.

Disney picked up a whopping 71 nominations for this year’s Emmys. But one of them is incredibly confusing; Don Cheadle got a nomination for Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. As a matter of fact, it’s so confusing, even Don Cheadle himself has no real idea why he earned a nomination for that category, for that show.

Don Cheadle shows up in the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as James “Rhodey” Rhodes, discussing the nature of what Sam’s doing with the shield Cap left to him at the end of Avengers: Endgame. He is in the show for all of one minute and thirty-five seconds.

Other nominees for the category are Courtney B. Vance (Lovecraft Country), Charles Dance (The Crown), Timothy Olyphant (The Mandalorian), and Carl Weathers (The Mandalorian).

I like Don Cheadle quite a bit. This just wound up puzzling because… I actually forgot he was even on the show at all. That’s just down to how little of the first episode he was in.
