Facebook’s Anti-Spam System Blocks Actual COVID-19 Information

The fallout of the ~~COVID-19~~ T-virus pandemic has only just begun, and all technology is stabbing us in the back. Take, for example, Facebook. Their Anti-Spam feature has blocked legitimate news sources about the virus. Thus keeping their users from linking actually useful information about it.

Facebook’s vice president of integrity Guy Rosemn tweeted out the following in response to @alexstamos:

We're on this – this is a bug in an anti-spam system, unrelated to any changes in our content moderator workforce. We're in the process of fixing and bringing all these posts back. More soon.

He then followed that up:

We’ve restored all the posts that were incorrectly removed, which included posts on all topics – not just those related to COVID-19. This was an issue with an automated system that removes links to abusive websites, but incorrectly removed a lot of other posts too.

Everything’s broken, we’re all defeated. And Skynet hasn’t even woken up, yet.
