The first gameplay footage for Quake Champions debuts at QuakeCon

Quake Champions

DOOM was a rousing success this year, so when Quake Champions was announced we got pretty excited. I loved DOOM, even playing the original shareware version on our old Packard Bell PC back in the day. But Quake is where I, and many others my age, really cut our teeth with true 3D gaming. I might even go as far as saying Quake 3 and its iterations are the best gaming experience one could ever have. God only knows how many games in the 2000’s used the Quake 3 engine as a base.

All that being said Quake Champions left us wanting during E3 as the Bethesda booth only had a few displays running the trailer. But now that QuakeCon is underway in Texas we finally get some actual footage of the game, and boy does it look like a blast from the past. It looks very much like the Quake we all know and love!

Check out the trailer below:

Quake Champions will go into closed beta sometime in 2017.
