First trailer and poster for season 4 of Homeland

Homeland has become a pretty divisive show; I’ve never seen such overnight backlash, but that’s kind of to be expected when you have a terrific, critically-lauded first season: all subsequent seasons will be judged more and more harshly (unless your show is called Breaking Bad).

Showtime released the first trailer and poster for Homeland‘s fourth season – which premieres October 5 at 9:00 – which Entertainment Weekly says will go down a little something like this:

The show has an entirely new setting — the season largely takes place overseas in Pakistan and Afghanistan as CIA case officer Carrie struggles to maintain stability in the region following the pullout of U.S. forces in Afghanistan[.] Plus there are several new cast members as well, including Corey Stoll, Suraj Sharma, Laila Robins, and Michael O’Keefe.

I’m okay with that because Corey Stoll is the best. Check out the trailer below.

Really? You went with “There’s No Place Like Homeland”? Christ. Showtime also tweeted out a poster:

Way to blend in, Carrie. On Wednesdays we wear grey. Also on Thursday, Fridays…you know what, just wear grey all the time.

Thanks to Uproxx for the heads up.
