Former WWE star Edge set to play Atom-Smasher on season 2 of The Flash

Adam Copeland, better known to wrestling fans as Edge, will be returning to television. He will be trading in his wrestling tights for some superhero ones. The former WWE World Champion is set to play Atom-Smasher on season 2 of The Flash.

Fans won’t have to wait long as his character will be making his appearance on the season premiere episode of the superhero series on the CW. Atom-Smasher is no hero and will be going toe-to-toe against The Flash. It’s a good thing that Edge has some experience being a heel.

The CW describes the character as follows:

“One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash.  His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him.”

We already know that the particle accelerator explosion caused a number of Meta’s to come into play during season one, but we learned from the San Diego Comic-Con panel that Earth 2 will be a major source for both new heroes and villains.

I’m just happy to see Edge on screen once again and not as a terrible throwaway character like he was in the not so good Highlander film from so many years back.
