Special Commemorative Game Celebrates 20 Years of TEKKEN with Unexpected Crossover Action

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment today announced the worldwide release of Galaga: TEKKEN 20TH Anniversary Edition mobile game. The new crossover game is available now from the App Store and Google Play as a free download for iOS and Android powered mobile devices. This over-the-top crossover game celebrates the 20th anniversary of BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment’s famed TEKKEN fighting game franchise by combining its characters with the gameplay of Galaga; one of the company’s most well-known classic arcade games.

Katsuhiro Harada, Game Director and Chief Producer of the TEKKEN series at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc said the following on this wild crossover:

TEKKEN is one of our longest running franchises and has enjoyed a strong fan following for two decades. With Galaga: TEKKEN 20TH Anniversary Edition, we wanted to give our fans something unexpected to celebrate such a huge milestone for TEKKEN. The crossover gameplay is sure to surprise and delight both TEKKEN and Galaga fans.”

Galaga: TEKKEN 20TH Anniversary Edition brings together the classic arcade gameplay of Galaga with the added twist of TEKKEN characters entering the battle as the spaceships battling enemy aliens. The game will also allow players to use TEKKEN’s famed “Tag” mechanic to call upon an additional character to the game board and double the damage players can deal against enemies. Lastly as an added surprise, special attacks featuring other classic BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment game characters can also be used to destroy multiple enemies at once in visually spectacular ways.
