Look, I like your Expo (which I sadly missed this year) GameStop. Really. And I recently bought probably the first game from you that I have in years because it was on clearance. But this ad? It’s no good.
The punchline doesn’t land. That is the least of its problems. No its biggest problem happens to be these two polygonal dudes.
Sweet merciful Christ, do they fall into the uncanny valley. Based on the way they move, I wasn’t expecting this to turn into a Dire Straights music video. Who… who looked at this and thought is was fit to air? It would’ve literally been less disconcerting to green screen the actors into the game clip. Probably would’ve cost less, too.
And no, GameStop, I don’t want to join the PowerUp Rewards club.
