Google And Amazon Angle Towards Close Of Streaming Spat

Amazon

“You got YouTube in my Fire!”
“You got Prime Video in my Chromecast!”

It would be safe to say that Amazon and Google haven’t exactly got along the past coupe of years. But that seems to be changing now.

It has recently been announced that YouTube will once again be available on Amazon’s Fire TV line of devices. Initially, it will only be YouTube, but future updates will include YouTube Kids and YouTube TV. Granted, it’s only on Amazon’s Fire TV devices. And even then it doesn’t apply to the Fire tablets. But it’s a start. And conversely, Prime Video will be available on Chromecast and Android TV devices.

Granted, there’s no mention of, say, Twitch. But it’s a start, right? A start that was signaled last year when Amazon started selling Chromecast devices again. There’s no hard timetable on the apps, yet, but it’s certainly in the near future.
