There is nothing in the world of professional wrestling quite like the collective countdown leading to the buzzer at the Royal Rumble. For many people (and the WWE) the big show is Wrestlemania, bit for myself, nothing comes close to the magic that is the Royal Rumble.

In this video released by WWE, Hall of Famer “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan recalls winning the first Royal Rumble all the way back in 1988. Little did he know that the Royal Rumble would come to kick off the road to Wrestlemania and define the careers of so many legends.

You can catch the 30th annual Royal Rumble on Jan. 29, only on the WWE Network. I know many of us here will be tuning in to see what surprises are in store.
