NBC orders their own series about Charles Manson

Apparently Charles Manson is the prettiest girl at the ball. After Fox announced that it would be developing a series about the cult leader with Bret Easton Ellis and Rob Zombie – and led to the best first comment any columnist has ever gotten – NBC has joined the family, so to speak (nailed it).

The AV Club reports:

While the Fox series promises to offer several shifting perspectives in retelling Manson’s story, Aquarius will remain squarely focused on the L.A. police sergeant who tracks him in Manson’s early days[.]

The LAPD sergeant in question will be played by David Duchovny, of Zoolander and Evolution fame. This already puts Aquarius ahead of the pack, in my opinion. We might actually get good drama out of this show, as opposed to the serial killer stroke-fest that Ellis and Zombie will deliver.
