Some Jackass is Ransoming Cyberpunk 2077 Files

CD PROJEKT RED stands resolute.

Late yesterday, CD PROJEKT RED released a statement informing all and sundry of blackmail. An unidentified party got a hold of some early design files for CD PROJEKT RED’s upcoming Cyberpunk 2077.

They announced that, should CD PROJEKT RED not deliver on their demands, the files will be released to the public. CD PROJECT RED’s response:

Cyberpunk 2077 ransom — *CD PROJEKT RED*

This is a bold move; plenty of other creators have decided to burn everything as a response to such demands. Notably, Quentin Tarantino threatened to abandon The Hateful Eight after the script was leaked, but later decided against it.

Regardless, it would be wise to avoid any spoilers if you’re interested in Cyberpunk 2077.
