Jeff Doesn’t like Toxic Overwatch Players

There’s no place for them in Overwatch. They’ll have to join Talon.

The Overwatch team has been more than a little frustrated. Toxic behavior has been sort of a problem in Overwatch, especially in Competitive. Jeff addresses it in the latest Developer Update.

To sum it up in short: Jeff and the Team would really like it if you’d stop screaming obscenities at each other. I know you probably want to call that Level 9 Hanzo that screwed you over a [STOP GUYS YOU’RE MAKING JEFF CRY], but maybe don’t. Maybe just take your fingers off the keyboard and scream at your monitor instead, like old people do at the TV when they’re watching the news.

If for no other reason, do it because all of the time they have to waste development hours on reporting functions is time that could’ve gone into shit we want. You know, like replay functions that don’t dump everything you didn’t record when you sign out. Or a means of making the next season of Competitive generate more salt. Overwatch needs those things.  So maybe think of that next time you want to tell a player what a dumbass you think they are in excruciating detail.
