Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles “Big”

Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles ends with a different spin on Wonder Woman. Way different from the original.

Steve Trevor gets tossed at the feet of Kobra. Apparently, Amanda Waller sent him to stop them. Just him. With no back up. Really starting to second guess your decision making skills, Amanda. Anyway, Steve was sent to stop them from employing a new super weapon at her inauguration. It’s apparently big, which certainly explains the title of the short. Kobra puts a gun to Steve’s head.

Wonder Woman pops through a portal and starts kicking ass. She tosses a gun to Steve in the middle of the fight, after cutting off his handcuffs with her cool sword. Things worth noting about this version of Wonder Woman; she is not an Amazon but rather a New God (Bekka, to be exact), she’s a redhead, and she has a decent pair of pants that would make Superfriends-era Brainiac even greener with envy.

Did I mention how cool the sword is? Because it‘s cool.

They manage to fight off all of the Kobra operatives with Wonder Woman hurling her sword directly into Kobra’s gut. He’s dying, but takes one final action; he presses a trigger which releases their weapon, Giganta, who honestly looks like a Megadeus.

Kinda looks more like a job for Roger Smith.

Steve has pretty much told Wonder Woman to leave, since she’s not even supposed to be there. In response, she decides to lean against a wall and let him realize how screwed he is. Guns don’t work against Giganta, and a rocket-propelled-grenade only stuns her. When she scoops him up in one of her hands, he finally asks Wonder Woman for help.

You can pretty much guess where it goes from there. There’s not much of a twist in this one, other than what was mentioned before.

Final Thoughts:

  • I really can’t over-emphasize how cool the sword is.
  • The safe word is glockenspiel.
  • Hey, look! Tara Strong didn’t die in this one!
