Krysten Ritter cast as Marvel’s Jessica Jones

More news from the ever-increasing Marvel universe: Krysten Ritter, of Breaking Bad and Don’t Trust the B– in Apartment 23, has been cast in the title role of Netflix’s Jessica Jones series.

For those unfamiliar with Jessica Jones, i.e. a lot of you, here’s a character synopsis courtesy of Wikipedia:

Created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Gaydos, Jones debuted in the series Alias as an embittered former superheroine who had used the aliases Jewel, Knightress, and Power Woman. After hanging up her costume, she became the owner and sole employee of Alias Private Investigations.

Marvel and Netflix are building to a Defenders series, centered around Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Daredevil. We’ll keep you up to date on any further casting announcements.
