Lionsgate & Comic-Con Join Forces With “Comic-Con HQ” Streaming Service

Comic-Con HQ

After the outrageous success of streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu, it seems like everyone is trying their hand at bring a platform to market. We are nearing critical mass with all these services. Before you know it people will be spending more on streaming than they would on a normal cable subscription; the very thing we went to streaming to avoid.

Still, Lionsgate feels there is still room for one more streaming platform and the studio is teaming up with San Diego Comic-Con to capitalize on nerd culture in a new joint service. This new joint venture has led to the creation Comic-Con HQ and will roll out in beta on May 7th. The service will go live in June, just in time for San Diego Comic-Con 2016 in July. Those that get into the beta will also get access to Comic-Con programming during the week of the show just for taking part.

No word on the price for this new streaming service, or a full breakdown of what content aside from exclusive SDCC event coverage there will be on the service. More information will be released as the beta nears.
