A few weeks after announcing that Krysten Ritter will play Jessica Jones, Marvel and Netflix have announced their pick for Luke Cage, and his name is Mike Colter.

Colter isn’t exactly a household name – unless you live in Colter’s mom’s house – but he’s popped up in shows like Ringer and American Horror Story: Coven. I know the Internet was all hot and bothered about Terry Crews playing Cage, but Terry Crews stars on one show (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and hosts another (Who Wants to be a Millionaire?), so I don’t know where the fuck that idea came from.

Luke Cage will start shooting sometime next year. No idea whether the controversial Cage-Jones anal sex scene will make the final cut.
