Marvel vs Capcom: Origins Being Pulled From PSN & Xbox Live

Marvel vs Capcom: Origins

Shoryuken is reporting that Capcom will be discontinuing Marvel vs Capcom: Origins later this month on both the Playstation Network and Xbox Live.

The official word from Capcom Unity fails to give any reason for the title being pulled, but we can assume is has something to do with Disney and the Marvel rights.

If you already own the game then you won’t have anything to worry about as all current copies will still be playable, but if you don’t have the game you may want to hurry up and grab a copy before it goes away forever. Marvel vs Capcom will be no more on the following dates:

– PSN (US): DEC 23, 2014

 – PSN (EU): DEC 23, 2014

 – XBLA (GLOBAL): DEC 31, 2014

The game has only been on the marketplace since 2012 so it’s strange that it’s being pulled, and being pulled without so much as an explanation from Capcom. The whole thing smells of Disney and piles of NDAs, but we can only hope that the game sees the light of day again in the future.
