Microsoft announces Windows 10

Earlier today in San Francisco, Microsoft did its best to shock the world with its announcement of the next version of the long running Windows OS.

Sure, we all knew it was coming, but what we didn’t expect was for Microsoft to name it Windows 10. “Wait a second,” I hear you asking, “What happened to Windows 9? Did I wake up ten years in the future into some fantastical world?” No, in fact this is still 2014 and you didn’t miss Windows 9.

The biggest thing to note is that Microsoft is bring back a few of the features that were present in Windows 7, yet left out from the travesty that was Windows 8. Most notably is that now back is the classic start menu that will incorporate the tiles that defined Windows 8.

We will have more information as the day unfolds.
