Netflix Tests Out Between-Episode Video Promos

Netflix

Everyone is mad about it.

Netflix has to shore u their  grip on the streaming video market; after all, everyone is gunning for them. And so, they came up with an idea: run promo’s for other shows/movies on Netflix between episodes. Granted they’re only testing it out right now on a small number of users. But those users? They’re pissed.

Users on Reddit complain that the ads are unskippable. That said, Netflix contends that the ads should be skippable; users need only click “Continue” to bypass them. That said, if you’re paying  money to watch ad-free content, it’s not hard to understand why you might be a bit miffed that there are ads where once there weren’t.

On the plus side, it’s just a test. Netflix does this all the time; tries out a feature on a small amount of the userbase, gauges reaction, then decides whether or not to move forward with it. So, it may well go away after the evaluation period, and you’ll never have to deal with it again.

Hooray…?
