New MacBook Pro leaks reveal new OLED touch bar that replaces function keys

A brand new MacBook Pro is supposed to be announced at the annual Apple event that goes down this Thursday. Leaks of Apple products are always a concern, but what happens when Apple themselves accidentally leak their reveal early?

MacRumors is reporting that Apple added a couple of images into the latest macOS Sierra update that show off the new MacBook Pro. Oops! The update hit yesterday and you’d think that the company would wait until Thursday to coincide with their event.

The biggest thing we can gather from the photos is the new OLED touch bar. You’ll now be able to use Apple Pay using the new TouchID sensor. The overall design looks pretty standard for a MacBook, but the new OLED touch bar replaces the row of function key.
We showed of some possible ideas that Apple has for turning the keys of the MacBook into mini E-ink displays sometime in 2018, and this may be a step into that direction. The function keys are still their, but now they will show up as text on the touch bar when needed. Text can also be displayed when doing all sorts of things and I’f imagine that you could use it as some sort of news ticker, which would be pretty nice.

These photos are still on rumors, but MacRumors is a pretty dependable site. We will have to wait until this Thursday for a full reveal and to find out what the new MacBooks are packing under the hood.
