New stripped down Nintendo Switch console comes to Japan

Nintendo is looking for customers in Japan to pick up another Nintendo Switch for the home. The company is offering up a new stripped-down bundle of the popular console.

The new bundle includes the Nintendo Switch console, Joy-Cons and their straps, but leaves out the stuff that hooks the console up to the TV. That means no HDMI cable or TV dock, as well as no Joy-Con grip.

This bundle is simple for what amounts to the portable portion of the console. This Second Nintendo Switch Set” is exclusive right now to the My Nintendo Store.

As you would have expected the new bundle saves you a chunk of change. Converting from the yen, the savings total up to a cool $45. Unfortunately, there are no plans for the deal to make its way West.

But this does show that Nintendo is really pushing the point that they are moving into the portable space with the console. The company is also marketing heavily to families and working to have homes own multiple consoles.
