Nintendo Switch live debut on The Tonight Show

Say what you will about the always excitable Jimmy Fallon, but the Tonight Show has found a much younger audience ever since he took over. Long gone are the days of Jay Leno doing dad jokes to mild chuckles.

This isn’t more apparent than with all the video game content that has gone even more mainstream than ever before thanks to not only the Tonight Show, but nearly every late night show. And while they all may indulge in a bit of gamer action, Fallon is always one step ahead of the rest because, you know, he actually plays video games.

President of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aimé stopped by the show to guide Jimmy through the upcoming Super Mario Run live on the air in front of the creator of Donkey Kong, Super Mario, Zelda and more, Shigeru Miyamoto.

But after some fun with Nintendo’s first mobile game Reggie had one more surprise in the first televised début of the new Nintendo Switch console. Not only that, but Jimmy got a hands on demo of the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Shigeru Miyamoto also surprised everyone by sitting in with Questlove and The Roots to play the Super Mario Bros theme music!
