They say that the arcades are dead and buried; That nobody goes to play them in a day and age of home consoles. Then again, those people never imagined that Namco Bandai would team with Nintendo to set the internet ablaze with their announcement of Pokken Tournament.
The game combines the worlds of Pokemon and Tekken to create the fighting game that every Pokemon fan has been dreaming about since generation one.
Check out the official trailer below and catch some of your favorite characters duke it out in some intense combat. While the odds of seeing Pokken Tournament come stateside, outside of the niche arcade, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some sort of Wii U port.
Talk about a killer app, Pokken Tournament could give the Wii U a major bump to what already is a pretty great system.
