Overwatch Archives Replaces Uprising; New PvE Mission Is Blackwatch Related

Overwatch

Scream “I need healing” in Japanese.

Remember when I said Uprising was coming back to Overwatch this year? Well, I was technically wrong. Which is the worst kind of wrong, but that’s neither here nor there. The event is being rebranded as Overwatch Archives. And this year’s PvE mission is titled Retribution.

Travel eight years into the past and join Blackwatch as they seek to capture a high-ranking member of the Talon organization. Fight in the streets of Venice as Genji, Moira, McCree, or Reyes (later known as Reaper) to complete the mission and unlock pieces of the past with over 100 items from last year and 60 new ones—including highlight intros, emotes, sprays, and more.

The new event contains the customary new items in addition to those from the previous year. Overwatch Archives: Retribution runs from April 10-30, and the event certainly promises a lot from a lore standpoint. And, after the event, the new map, Rialto, will be added to the game as a PvP map. So that’s a total win in my book.

Is Moira’s Blackwatch skin good? Yeah, but it won’t replacing the David Bowie skin in my book anytime soon.
