Year of the Dog is right around the corner.
The new year brings new things to Overwatch.
Among them, Hero 27; whom Jeff Kaplan says was needed. He betrays little, however; not even so much as the hero’s class is mentioned. Though the good money is on Defense, since there hasn’t been a new defense character since launch. All that said, though, if it isn’t Mama Hong, I’m fucking done with life.
The other big takeaway is that the Year of the Dog event is on its way. Which is good, because I missed out of the Rooster last year, and I want that sweet Monkey King skin. Jeff says there’s “some pretty significant content that players are going to be very happy with.” Also, he’s probably nerfing the shit out of Boom Mike, because he crossed Jeff without requisite preparation for death.
The Overwatch League is on the way, and you probably already know how you feel about that. Also, the BlizzardWorld map is on the way, and it’s filled with Easter Eggs aplenty. It’s going through its final tuneup now.
Finally, there will be an update to the Uprising event this year. There will also be the same for the Anniversary. And, in the very near future, a whole bunch of new content will be hitting the generic boxes. So get ready for that to happen.
