PUBG Corp Wants The Game On Every Platform Including The Switch

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a massive game that brought PC gaming to the forefront like is hasn’t been in years. While the rollout wasn’t as smooth as many would have liked, the game has developed into arguably the most played and followed game of the year.

So it would make sense to try to make this format work on consoles, and with clones like Fortnight: Battle Royale doing well on both PC and consoles, it was only a matter of time before PUBG made the move.

Unfortunately, the Xbox One X version of the game is pretty borked, something that doesn’t help the game, or the Xbox One X. But the team continues to work on the game, just like they did with the PC edition, so there is hope it’ll be a solid release soon.

But PUBG Corp wants to go bigger and better with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Chang Han Kim, CEO of PUBG Corp says the game will be an Xbox One X console exclusive for the time being, but made some interesting claims about why that might be. Kim stated that Sony has very strict rules over its releases unlike Microsoft.

While this sounds like a stab at Microsoft, you have to remember that Microsoft is pulling from the Steam pool by having an early access like program that Microsoft calls their Game Preview. Sure, it’s a way to get your money before completing a game, but people love throwing money at things.

Speaking to Inven Globel, Kim stated that:

“Early Access on Steam and Game Preview on Xbox One are like pre-release, so they don’t have a restriction on quality. However, [PlayStation] is very strict about this. There were cases where a game took six months more to launch even when it was already completed.”

The team would also like to see the game make its way onto the Nintendo Switch, but that would be quite the challenge. Still, the idea of PUBG on the go is inciting.
