Put That Steam Gift Card To Good Use

Steam

Were you lucky enough to score a Steam gift card this Christmas? Are you looking to get the most bang for your buck? Well, there is no better time than right now to use that golden ticket as the Steam Winter Sale is in full swing. Below we are featuring a bunch of great games that are currently under $5. So go ahead and fill up your library with these titles and enjoy your break.

Tomb Raider

The game that helped redefine Lara Croft for the modern age wasn’t only a new take on the classic adventurer, but was one of the best games of 2013. At $3.99 for the base game you are getting more than your money’s worth. “The Game of The Year” is also available for $5.99

Dishonored

Dishonored came out of left field back in 2012. Published by Bethesda and developed by Arcane Studios, Dishonored had style and the substance to back it up. Gameplay is solid and your action will have repercussions on how your adventure plays out. Play it like an FPS, play it like a stealth game, play it however you want, just make sure to play it.

Fallout New Vegas

Swap the setting of Fallout 3 with the West Coast and Vegas setting and you have a winner in New Vegas. This game is a love letter to Fallout fans and the details show it. While the team behind New Vegas had to deal with the buggy Fallout 3 engine, they managed to stuff New Vegas with enough new content to make it stand out over its big brother. Grab Fallout New Vegas and odds are you’ll be playing it until next Christmas.

Skullgirls

Fighting games are few and far between on the PC, but one of the freshest fighters in the past few years calls the PC its home. Skullgirls is a fast-paced 2D fighter that features a crazy cast of characters and silky smooth animations. It’s a great title to get into fighting games while still offering expert players enough meat to have a lot of fun.

Ghostbusters: The Videogame

While we won’t ever be getting a film version of Ghostbusters 3, Ghostbusters: The Videogame is as close as we can get. In fact, the writers of the films consider this game the true Ghostbusters 3 as it has elements of the original script and has the entire cast returing to voice their respective characters. Great writing and fun gampleplay make this a must-have for any Ghostbusters fan.

Halo: Spartan Assault

Odds are that even hardcore Halo fans may have missed this title which is a shame because it’s a whole lot of fun. Spartan Assault features 30 missions and will have you experiencing a side-story that dives into the origin of the Spartan Ops program that players saw in Halo 4. While Microsoft doesn’t seem to want it’s core Halo series on the PC (Microsoft makes no sense) you’ll love this fun little action-title that fleshes out the Halo universe and for $1.99 you really can’t go wrong.

Red Faction Guerrilla Steam Edition

You’re a dude with a hammer, a hammer that can lay waste to anything your heart desires. Set 50 years after the PC original, Guerrilla plays like a massive Grand Theft Auto game, but gives you the ability to destroy the world around you with via the Geo-Mod technology the game employs. Seriously, I spent countless hours just trying to destroy the world around me with only a hammer!
