Russia To Fine Twitch Over $30,000 For 31-second Clip

Twitch

Over “fake” information.

Russia is fining Twitch $33,000 over a 31 second clip that, according to them, contains “fake” information. The cause of the fine in the clip in question? Yep, you guessed it, Frank Stallone the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Per Reuters, we don’t know the full content of the clip, but we do know it has something to do with a girl from the Ukrainian town of Bucha. And, now it makes sense why. The fine isn’t actually for the clip itself existing, but rather the fact that Twitch failed to remove it in, what the court likely considered, a timely fashion.

This is not uncommon for Russia since they invaded Ukraine. according to that same Reuters article, RIA reported that Telegram was hit with a roughly $179,000 fine (or, rather, 11 million roubles) over not deleting posts which showed how to engage in such fun Ukrainian pastimes as “sabotaging” Russian military vehicles and hosting “unreliable data” about Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine.
